Failure to these electronic steering locks can lead to a total break down. If you start to see issues sending your parts for overhaul is the best course of action. Intermittent key not turning or noisy lock operation should be taken as a red light. If you have reached the point of a no start we can still help get you back up and running keeping the immobilizer aspect intact. We will need the steering lock, ignition switch and a working key to carry out the repairs.
It is important the ESL is removed carefully as this component holds specific data for your car and has a memory part that can be damaged beyond repair after powering up during a diy rebuild is attempted. BMW ECU
Repair carried out successfully but as always it took a bit longer than agreed. ECU DECODE were a bit more expensive than some competitors but we have used them many times and they always seem to get it fixed first time. The phone manner can be rude which I guess is his wife . The chap I think hes called Darren is more weird and rude! That aside they get the job done

Wish I found these guys before letting the mechanic lose on my car, anyway water under the bridge this company bailed us out. Before you go buying a motor thinking its a simple job... not ! I suggest you give it to this company its a lot less hassle.

We have used Ecu decode many times now and can't say how good the customer service Darren and Sarah give, amazing. Thing don't always go right when dealing with electrical faults on modern vehicles but with these guys at the end of the phone, issues aren't a painful experience. Big thumbs up guys.

Proper Job.
I buy new parts where I can but that's not so simple with this part. I sent Darren the removed steering column, ignition lock and a key.. Two days later it's like new... Best bit was what I was charged, was no more than most where trying to sell me a non standard emulator fix. Highly recommended company.
